Wonderful Wedding

from: Denise Duncan

A blushing bride walking down the aisle with an edgy groom waiting near the altar.... a very familiar scene which almost every single male or female on earth hopes to experience once, twice or more in their lifetime. Everybody is so familiar with a wedding whether she/he was once wed, a family member married or have graced or taken part in a wedding as a guest or a member of an entourage.

A wedding is a sacrament, a ceremony or a formal procedure to commemorate the start of a marriage or a civil union. Although a wedding may vary according to customs, traditions, religions, countries and even beliefs, in a nutshell, it usually denotes the consummation of a courtship for a lifetime commitment. The stars of the show in a wedding are the bride (female) and the groom/ bridegroom who then become husband and wife after the ceremony.

A wedding can be patterned according to various kinds depending on the preference and capacity of the couple. It can be a double wedding, that which concerns two sets of couples in a single ceremony, a destination wedding or that which requires the betrothed pair as well as the majority of the entourage/guests to travel to even as far as other countries in order to be present at the affair. Some couples go for a weekend wedding where exciting activities are included like golf tournaments, spa treatments to entertain the guests over throughout the weekend. Other types of weeding include the white wedding which is a unique celebration in the United Kingdom, Ireland and the United States, online wedding or that conducted in the Internet, same-sex wedding, civil wedding and non-alcoholic wedding which are all self-explanatory.

As a once in a lifetime event for some people, wedding trends pertaining to the ceremony itself, fashion, budget and other fine points have evolved over time to mark this momentous celebration. Various wedding coordinators and organizers have consistently competed to come up with the styles which would suit to the tastes of the couples and be attuned to the present times.

Nina Callaway, an event planner who has assisted many couples to achieve the dream wedding they look for has come up with top ten wedding trends for 2007.

1. Glamorous Weddings
2. Back of Wedding Dress Details
3. Bold Jewel Tone Colors
4. Square Tables
5. Environment-friendly Weddings
